It makes you think about all the things you’ve been through in your life and who would best play you in the film version of your own life story..
..well I’ve got a real life story to tell you.
You need to know that this is a WARTS AND ALL real-life story of an Internet newbie who has fought against the odds.
This person has had a LOT thrown at him in life and when you see how his story turns out you’ll agree with me that there should be a movie made about him!
This person’s name is Randy Baustert..
..but first you need to know the REASONS WHY I am telling you Randy’s story;
- You need to see with your own eyes that there are people out there just like you that battle through it all and STILL MAKE IT TO THE TOP
- You need to understand that I am not telling you Randy’s story to get sympathy from you but to show you how it is possible for EVERYONE, including YOU, to make it at internet marketing
- You need to know that although Randy is a personal friend and coaching client of mine I am not telling you his story as ‘a favour’. I am telling you because it’s important that you hear it and because it will help you with your own online business
** The Early Years
Randy had a tough start in life. His dad died when he was 13 years old and his mother was an alcoholic.
So at age 13 Randy found himself thrust right into the world of work to make ends meet.
The only way he could do this was to tell a restaurant he was 16 which he did and got a job as a dishwasher. That was his first job and he’s worked full time ever since..
.. after just two years Randy had worked his way up from dishwasher to restaurant manager.
So Randy was just FIFTEEN and managing a restaurant which he did faultlessly for two years until his cover was blown and the owners discovered that he was below 18.
As was not legally able to run the restaurant he was fired by the owners but they gave him such a glowing report that he got a new job the very same week!
** The Forces, Toxic Waste & Surviving Hurricanes
Randy grew tired of restaurant work and joined the Air Force where he was trained as a Russian linguist. But four years of government red tape and he’s had enough so he went to college and used his degree to get a job cleaning up toxic waste!
At this point Randy was working around 20 hours a day for seven days a week and he did this for five years travelling around America.
Are you starting to see what I mean about there being a movie in Randy’s life? 
He ended up being posted to a remote island location and was there in 1989 when Hurricane Hugo came and pretty much destroyed everything.
This got Randy into the construction business and then, being technical, also into the Internet in the VERY early days! He learned quickly and by the mid 1990s started helping other people with search engine optimization.
** Things Take A Turn For The Worse..
Just when Randy was starting to find his feet he developed an ulcer in 2004 that was getting worse all the time.
Doing search engine work for private clients wasn’t getting him enough work to survive so he was still doing both property management and any work he could get on the Internet.
Randy was desperate to find a better way to make money using the Internet so used what limited time and money he had to grow his knowledge.
[You would do well to take this lesson from this story if NOTHING else!]
But in late August of 2004 he ended up in the hospital after waking up in the middle of the night vomiting blood.
Randy was told, in no uncertain terms, that he had to change his entire life OVERNIGHT.
He had to change his diet, get more exercise and avoid stress.
So he changed his diet.
He started exercising.
But the stress from his job was still there and the ulcer continued to get worse until it erupted and they had to do emergency surgery on Randy in late September.
** Hospitalized? Game Over?
Did Randy let this stop him from achieving his dream?

Top Tips on Making Money From Your Current Website
You have probably been in business for a while now and you have had someone put up a website to promote your business. You have no visitors to your site and are therefore not generating any revenue from your shining new website. Here are top tips on using your existing website to generate income for you and your business.
- The first thing you need to do is make sure that your site is optimized for certain keywords in your industry. It is not enough to have a website up and running, you need to make sure that when someone enters a search in the search engines for a term in your industry, your website is listed prominently by the search engine. In order to achieve this your webmaster must apply some search engine optimization methods to your webpages.
- You need to encourage other websites to link to your site. Preferably other websites in your chosen area. To do this, your site must contain useful, unique and up to date information about your industry
- You can write informative articles about your area of specialty and include links to your website in these articles. Publish these articles on article submission sites and you can generate a lot of traffic to your site through the backlinks.
- Once, you have visitors on your site, you must concisely tell them what your site is about and let them know what they can gain from your site. Your visitors will all come with a ‘what is in it for me?’ mentality, so you must cater to that.
- Try to capture the emails of your visitors. This is a must do. Offer them a free report in exchange for their email address and first name. Do this using an autoresponder and an opt-in form. Once you have captured their email, you can follow them up via a series of informative e mails
- Apart from telling the world about your business, you can also generate revenue from your sites visitors by:
- Selling other people’s products via affiliate links. These products should not be your direct competitors but rather products that compliment what you have to offer. So if you are a maker and seller of fishing rods, you can have on your site affiliate links for fish baits.
- Selling advertising space on your site. If you are able to generate a large amount of traffic to your site, you could consider selling some space for banner ads or putting Google adsense adverts on your page. This can act as an extra source of income.
Do not, however, over-monetize your site. Too many banners on your website can distract your visitors from your primary message, which is your business.
